Content production standards and procedures at A7lamy — transparency, accuracy, and documentation are our foundation
Last updated: January 2025
A7lamy is committed to the highest standards of accuracy and scholarly honesty in all its content. This page explains precisely how we produce content and the standards every article must meet before publication. We aim for all content on our site to be trustworthy, verifiable, and acknowledging of its limitations.
1. Content Standards and Sources
All A7lamy article content is based on reliable classical Islamic sources, primarily: • Tabeer Al-Ru'ya by Muhammad Ibn Sirin (d. 729 CE) • Ta'teer Al-Anam fi Tabeer Al-Manam by Abd Al-Ghani Al-Nabulsi (d. 1731 CE) • Kitab Al-Manam by Khalil Ibn Shahin Al-Zahiri (d. 1468 CE) • Relevant Quranic verses and authentic hadiths on dreams and visions • Contemporary psychological references when needed, explicitly cited No content is published based on unknown or unreliable sources.
2. Writing and Editing Process
Every article goes through the following stages before publication: 1st — Research & Writing: A specialist author prepares the article drawing directly from original interpretation books. 2nd — Documentation: Explicit attribution to cited sources is added throughout the article. 3rd — Sharia Review: A specialist reviews the content for accuracy and correct attribution. 4th — Editorial Review: The article is reviewed for Arabic language quality and writing style. 5th — Final Check: A final check of links and factual information before publication. Every article displays publication date, last review date, and author name.
3. What We Don't Do — Claim Boundaries
We explicitly commit to the following boundaries in all our content: • We don't issue religious fatwas — interpretations are scholarly opinions, not binding rulings. • We don't make definitive claims — dreams have multiple interpretations and God knows best. • We don't provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. • We don't claim to predict the future or know the unseen. • We don't attribute AI-generated interpretations to human scholars. • We don't publish misleading content or content that exploits religious emotions commercially.
4. Fact-Checking
We follow a rigorous fact-checking methodology: • Every claim is attributed to a verifiable source. • Prophetic hadiths are cited with their authenticity grade and chain. • Quotes from scholars' books are explicitly attributed to their authors. • We clearly distinguish between what is established tradition and modern interpretation. • We accept corrections from readers and verify them before making changes. 5. Updates and Revisions
We commit to regularly updating our content to ensure accuracy: • Articles are periodically reviewed (every 6-12 months) for accuracy. • A clear 'Last Reviewed' date is added to every article. • If we discover an error it is corrected immediately with a note on the nature of the correction. • Updated articles remain at the same URL to ensure continuity. • We don't delete historically accurate content except for clear objective reasons.
6. Author and Editor Attribution
We believe in complete transparency in content attribution: • Every article displays the author and editor information. • AI-generated interpretations are clearly labeled. • The Authors and Editors page includes their biographies and professional standards. • No conflict of interest affecting content is hidden. • The editorial team can be contacted directly at: info@a7lamy.net
